Lane closures and traffic signal installation at US 290 at FM 2679

Starting Monday, motorists should prepare for lane closures and potential traffic delays on the west side of Brenham at the intersection of US 290 and FM 2679.

 

Crews will implement lane closures in both directions throughout the week as work begins to install a new traffic signal. This activity is part of a $1 million construction project with Cornerstone Construction designed to improve safety and traffic flow by adding turn lanes and a traffic signal to reduce congestion.

 

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, remain alert for signage, and consider utilizing alternate routes while crews are working.

 

The Texas Department of Transportation also requests that drivers be prepared for changing traffic patterns once the new signal becomes operational, with additional information to be shared closer to the activation date.
