High school baseball playoffs in Burton baseball schedules bi-district playoff series against Evadale

The Burton Panthers are set to commence their Class 2A Division II bi-district playoff series against Evadale.

 

The best-of-three series kicks off on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., with Game 2 scheduled for Friday at the same time. If a decisive third game is necessary, it will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. All matchups are slated to be held at West Fork High School.

 

Entering the postseason, Burton boasts an impressive 19-3 overall record, clinching the District 26-2A championship with a 9-1 district mark. The Panthers have demonstrated consistent dominance, including a commanding 14-0 victory over Milano High School on April 17. In that game, pitcher Eli Jaeger delivered a no-hit performance over three innings, while the offense erupted for seven runs in both the first and third innings.

 

On the other side, Evadale holds an 11-10 overall record, securing the second seed from District 25-2A. Despite a recent setback in a seeding game against Dallardsville Big Sandy, where they surrendered a three-run fifth inning leading to a 5-3 defeat, the Rebels have shown resilience. They have won four of their last six contests, including a sweep over West Hardin in their most recent series.

 

The winner of the Burton-Evadale series will advance to face either Harper or Bartlett in the area round, setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the high school baseball playoffs.
