Highlighting cotton gin burton and the excitement of antique tractors

The heart of Burton, Texas, pulsed with energy on Saturday as the community gathered for the 37th Annual Cotton Gin Festival.

Residents and visitors alike flocked to the historic Texas Cotton Gin Museum grounds to honor the town's rich cotton heritage.

The day commenced with the much-anticipated Main Street Parade.

Spectators lined the streets, cheering as a procession of antique tractors, some dating back nearly a century, proudly chugged through town.

The parade also showcased classic cars with gleaming chrome, the spirited Burton High School Band, and festive floats representing local businesses and community groups.

Following the parade, attendees explored the bustling Marketplace.

Local vendors offered a variety of Texas-made goods, while food enthusiasts indulged in an array of culinary delights.

A highlight of the festival was the demonstration of the 1914 Burton Farmers Gin, the oldest operating cotton gin in America.

At 3 PM, the historic gin roared to life, processing a bale of cotton and captivating the crowd with a glimpse into the past.

Throughout the day, live music filled the air, and families enjoyed various contests and games.

The festival's success underscored Burton's commitment to preserving its heritage and fostering community spirit.

As the sun set on the festivities, it was clear that Burton's heart beats as strong as ever.
