Your weekend does not need a long drive or an overloaded calendar: Washington County has a stage production, an antiques outing, a store celebration, and an early Halloween afternoon within reach.
For the week of October 19–25, 2026, these four picks offer different ways to spend time around Brenham, Burton, and Chappell Hill.
Choose the one that fits your household, then confirm the organizer's latest details before leaving.
A night of theatre at Hohlt Park
Out of Pocket Theatre presents John Cariani's Almost, Maine at the Bobbie M. Dietrich Memorial Amphitheatre in Hohlt Park, October 22–25.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances begin at 7 PM; Sunday's performance begins earlier, at 5:30 PM.
The play follows relationships in an imagined northern town, making it an option for a date night or an evening with friends.
General tickets are $10, with $8 tickets for seniors 65 and older, $6 student tickets, and $5 tickets for children 12 and younger.
The production page also lists free admission for children three and younger, but the ticketing page recommends the show for ages 10 and up.
Parents should review the content guidance: romance, kissing, and conversations about adult relationships are part of the production.
Check the theatre's production page and ticket options before choosing a performance, particularly if you are bringing younger children.
Start the antiques weekend in Burton
Antiques at the Pavilions opens Friday, October 23, and continues through November 1 at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum in Burton.
The published shopping hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, with covered shopping and free parking advertised.
The museum's listed address is 307 North Main Street, giving visitors a clear destination for a daytime browse.
Free parking should not be confused with a promise that every activity or purchase is free; confirm any admission questions with the organizer.
If Saturday is already full, Sunday's daytime hours give shoppers another option.
For anyone looking farther ahead, the listing also advertises Wine & Wander on Friday, October 30, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
That evening falls next week, so keep it separate from this weekend's plans.
Leftovers celebrates on Saturday
Leftovers Antiques has a 20th Anniversary Party listed for Saturday, October 24, from 4 PM to 9 PM at 3900 Highway 290 West, just outside Brenham.
Rachel Ashwell, founder of Shabby Chic, is scheduled to sign her book Meadow Manor from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Flashpoint is scheduled to play from 6 PM to 9 PM, with complimentary wine and light refreshments also advertised.
For visitors interested in both the signing and music, the published times overlap between 6 PM and 7 PM.
The tourism listing does not state an admission charge or book-purchase requirements; check with the store rather than assuming either detail.
Allow time to park and find the signing if meeting the author is your main reason for going.
Costumes come out early in Chappell Hill
Trick or Treat on Main Street is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, in Chappell Hill.
The local tourism listing gives the event hours as 3 PM to 5 PM, with costume judging by age group at 4:30 PM and awards at 5 PM.
Costumed dogs are included in the judging, too.
The Chamber's event page confirms the date and Main Street location, offering a direct organizer contact for last-minute questions.
This is an early celebration, six days before Halloween, rather than an October 31 event.
All times here are local Central Time; check for schedule or weather updates, save the event details, and leave room to enjoy the outing. |

These shops are so much better than buying mass produced stuff online, support local
nina_w100 percent. And you actually find interesting stuff with a story behind it, not just the same generic thing everyone else has.
Absolutely, shopping local not only supports small business owners but means you're taking home something with real history and character behind it.
Cool, always looking for vintage tools and hardware, hope one of them has a good selection
Vintage tools and hardware have a dedicated following, and specialty antique shops are often your best bet for finding quality pieces you simply won't see anywhere else.
